About Us
We believe that
EVERY FAMILY
should have somewhere to turn
FOR SUPPORT.
Our aim is to transform lives by providing practical and emotional support to families throughout the Hythe & Waterside area.
Families Matter was formed in 1997 as part of Hythe United Reformed Church outreach programme and became a charity in 2002.

Parenting Courses
Being a parent can be both rewarding and demanding. Our courses are here to support you and help you build a strong and secure relationship with your child, whatever their age. From anger management help, to guidance for those with challenging teenagers, we’re here to help you grow as a parent.
Dementia is extremely challenging for both the people suffering, and for their families and loved ones. We work alongside both groups, giving them the support, guidance and solutions that they need.

Dementia Support Groups

On the Right Track
Our successful schools programme helps junior age children transition into senior school. Big changes can cause different anxieties and worries, so we support them through this adaptation period, making sure their experience is as smooth as possible.
Our SWAN (Support With Additional Needs) group aids parents and children, enabling both to reach their full potential. We run a host of activity mornings where the children can have fun and interact with each other while parents have a break.

Special Needs Support

Our Time
Our time is a support group for families of those struggling from addiction. We meet once a month by invitation only. Please contact Ann on 07921 077407 for more details.

Women’s Wellbeing Group
Our women’s wellbeing group meets every Friday during term time. 9:30 – 11:30 at Hythe URC.
