We believe that every family should have somewhere to turn to for support.
It’s been a privilege to assist hundreds of families across Hythe & Waterside. It brings a smile to our face to offer our help, guidance, motivation, comfort and hope to people in our community.
But we need your help.
There are three ways that you can support us today:
Give
Every donation, no matter how small, can help transform a family’s life. Our aim each year is to raise approximately £35,000 so any financial support that you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Fundraising

If you’d like to go a step further, you could become a fundraising hero.

Big Barmy Bake Sale
Fancy yourself as a mean baker? Get yourself in the kitchen to cook up some yummy treats that you can sell to your friends and family!
Get Moving
Keep active and make a difference to local families as you run, walk, swim, cycle or even cartwheel for cash. Just make sure you’re not cartwheeling down a hill!
The Gift of Giving
When celebrating a big occasion like your birthday or Christmas, everyone is always given that one present that they just don’t need. Instead, politely ask your friends and family to swap your unwanted socks for a small donation to Families Matter.
Shift the Clutter
Have you got loads of items in your home that are just sat gathering dust? Well, there’s a good chance that you can have a nice clear-out and support local families in the process. Sell them on eBay or go old-school and set up a garage sale!
Quiz Your Friends
Host a quiz or mastermind tournament and charge a donation entry fee. Your friends will love testing their wits and you’ll be able to audition as the next Chris Tarrant!
Charity Auction
Get in touch with some of your favourite businesses and ask them for prize donations. You can then auction them off to your friends and family and make a fun event out of it.
Volunteer
Volunteering is at the heart of what we do at Families Matter
As a volunteer, you will learn valuable skills and experience of working in a team and helping change the lives of families in your community.
